Play changes lives. Your support makes it possible.

From bringing free play sessions to underserved neighbourhoods, to training the next generation of playworkers, Sheffield Play Partnership helps create opportunities for children across the city to play, connect and belong. We’re seeking businesses and organisations who share our vision and want to invest in happier children, stronger communities and a more playful Sheffield.

A new CIC with decades of experience

Sheffield Play Partnership became a CIC in July 2026 but its journey started out back in 2015 when a handful of organisations supporting play in the city came together to form Sheffield Play Association. The aim was to support the resilience of play projects despite funding cuts and austerity through peer support and mutual aid. In 2022 Manor Afterschool and Kids Klubs (MASKK), Pitsmoor Adventure Playground and Sharrow Community Forum (who manage Adventures) decided that the widespread loss of play opportunities meant they needed to be more proactive and they launched Sheffield Play Partnership with a mission to support new and growing play projects and the children’s workforce. The Play Partnership received funding from the council for 2 years – growing in capacity and impact and laying the groundwork for the Play Partnership to become an organisation in it’s own right.

Sheffield Play Partnership CIC offers decades of experience supporting community play spaces with representatives from MASKK, Pitsmoor and Sharrow Community Forum on our board of Directors and Sarah Wilson as our CEO who has worked on and supported play projects in London for nearly 20 years. With council funding reducing, we are looking to build and innovate to offer Sheffield a reliable foundation to build more playful spaces and places across the city, more skilled work and training opportunities and more children feeling a sense of belonging where they live.
