Celebrate the power of Play every October Half Term
Sheffield Week of Play sees organisations and communities across Sheffield shout about the importance of play for children, young people, families and communities.
Join us this half term to raise awareness of the power of play where you are. Wherever quality play opportunities happen, we want to amplify the great work that goes into setting the conditions for playfulness, and the powerful positive outcomes.
Community group, voluntary sector organisation, faith group, family hub, stay and play, youth club, uniformed youth group, TARA or a different kind of organisation; If you are helping to support children to find time and space to be themselves, to make active choices about how they spend their time and helping them to shape the world around them, come and celebrate Sheffield Week of Play with us!
Is your organisation facilitating opportunities to play this October Half Term?
If so, you can join in the movement to amplify the importance of play by:
– Using the ‘Sheffield Week of Play’ logo in your promotions and advertising
– Tagging Sheffield Play Partnership on social media when you share information about your half term offer. (You can let us know whether you’d like us to help promote your play offer or whether you’re likely to already have a lot of people, in which case we will hold off sharing until after your sessions have happened)
– Applying for a £200 grant to help you celebrate play in style, if your play offer is for school age children
– Signing up for free as a member of Sheffield Play Partnership to stay in the loop about future events, networking opportunities and training for those supporting children at play, lots of which will be free.
– Getting in touch with us to see if we can help you to build capacity in your organisation to become more sustainable, to reach more children, to cater better for children with additional needs…or whatever your aims are.
We can’t wait to hear what you’ve got planned!
