Discovering Play at Stradbroke Community Centre

Discovering Play, presented at Level One, introduces the importance of play and Playwork along with some practical elements. This 6-week course (+ Introductory session) of 2-hour long in-person engaging sessions is a great introduction to working with children at play. Click here to find out more about this course.
Discovering Play aims to develop individuals skills to support the facilitation and development of good play environments where children can thrive. Whether this is in the home, school, parks, sports or community settings.
Upon successful completion participants will be awarded an NOCN Level 1 Award in Skills for Employment, Training and Personal Development Qualification No: 601/0948/8
- Introductory Session on 23rd January to enrol, find out more about the course, find out if its the right thing for you, whilst also getting stuck into some practical ideas for play.
- 12 hours of workshops across 6 weeks (Fridays 30th Jan, 6th Feb, 13th Feb, 27th Feb, 6th Mar, 13th Mar)

Accessibility Information for Stradbroke Community Centre
- Visitors are advised to approach from Richmond Road and turn into the entrance for Stradbroke Primary School. Halfway down the drive, there is a car park on the left, which community centre users may use.
- From the car park, walk back out and follow the path down the left side of the drive to the open gate facing the school field. Once through the gate, follow the path around to the right and you’ll see the community centre. Everything is signposted.
- Although the drive slopes slightly, it is level access throughout, so prams and wheelchairs can be pushed without too much difficulty. Please note that the walk from the car park to the centre is approximately 75 metres.
- Accessible toilets and baby changing facilities are available.
