Our city’s annual day to celebrate play in Sheffield, is being held on the Wednesday of Autumnal half term in October.

On a day of play, thousands of children, young people and families and their communities get out to play at community events across Sheffield joining in a collective celebration of play.

This day also profiles children’s and young people’s right to play.

Our city’s day of play is a campaign that highlights the importance of play in children’s, families and communities’ lives.

Campaigning for play can make a huge difference not only to local children and families, but to whole communities and the city as a whole.

It’s easy to celebrate Play on this day – it doesn’t matter whether your plans are big or small, what’s most important is that children and young people get the opportunity to get out to play for the day, and that collectively we highlight the importance of play in children’s lives.
