Introducing the 2026 SWASH Programme: Fully Funded Training & Support for Sheffield’s Wraparound Providers

Sheffield’s school-aged childcare community is about to enjoy its most exciting year yet.

The 2026 SWASH Programme, fully funded by Sheffield City Council, brings together leading experts, practical tools, and inspiring opportunities – all designed to help out‑of‑school and wraparound providers deliver high‑quality, sustainable, and child‑centred care. Whether you’re a long‑established setting or just getting started, this year’s programme opens the door to free training, free resources, free membership, and brand‑new ways to connect with peers across the city.

This alone is a game‑changer. Providers can instantly access:

  • Ready‑to‑use policies, procedures and essential paperwork
  • Monthly newsletters packed with fresh ideas and activity inspiration
  • Discounts on insurance, training and more
  • Expert support whenever you need advice

This is practical, immediate value – saving you time, money, and stress.

Quality Works isn’t about pointing out what you’re doing wrong. Instead, it gives you:

  • A shared language for quality across your team
  • Tools that celebrate your strengths
  • Meaningful ways to improve practice
  • A chance to secure one of 50 fully funded licences for funded clubs

Two online introductory sessions are available to help you get started, with dates in March and April 2026.

A full suite of on‑demand recorded training modules, including:

  • Marketing support
  • Ofsted registration and inspection guidance
  • Strengthening supervision
  • And more to come

Learn at your own pace, at a time that suits your team.

These in‑person sessions offer hands‑on learning, peer discussion, and practical ideas you can use the same day.

Workshops include:

  • Creative Fun Snacks (20 March, 9:30–12:30)
  • Loose Parts in Wraparound (5 June, 9:30–12:30)
  • Marketing & Vision for the New School Year (1 July, 9:30–12:30)

Extra perks for early respondents include recipe kits, scrap kits, and 1:1 Quality Works link‑ups.

Delivered by Sheffield Playworkers and accredited by NOCN, this Level 1 programme helps deepen your understanding of playwork principles and enrich the experiences you offer children.

A two‑day course meeting Ofsted requirements will be available later in the year—another essential that’s fully funded for supported settings.

Opportunities to join the Sheffield Play Partnership for wider networks, CPD, and annual Play Awards
