This gathering will be at MASKK (Manor After School Kidz Klub). \nWhether paid or voluntary\, young or older\, supporting 3 year olds or 16 year olds\, structured or unstructured\, large groups or small groups\, hands on playing or stuck in an office helping it to happen\, you are all very welcome! \nLet’s celebrate our successes\, support each other with difficulties\, share best practice\, resources and ideas to keep offering awesome play opportunities for Sheffield’s children and young people. \nThis gathering we will be joined by Jo from Sheffield Council’s Community Safeguarding Team. SUMMARY:Discovering Play at Zest
DESCRIPTION:Discovering Play\, presented at Level One\, introduces the importance of play and Playwork along with some practical elements. This 6-week course (+ Introductory session) of 2-hour long in-person engaging sessions is a great introduction to working with children at play. Click here to find out more about this course. \nDiscovering Play aims to develop individuals skills to support the facilitation and development of good play environments where children can thrive. Whether this is in the home\, school\, parks\, sports or community settings. \nUpon successful completion participants will be awarded an NOCN Level 1 Award in Skills for Employment\, Training and Personal Development Qualification No: 601/0948/8 \n\n\n\nIntroductory Session on Thursday 4th June\, find out more about the course\, find out if it’s the right thing for you\, whilst also getting stuck into some practical ideas for play.\n12 hours of workshops across 6 weeks (Thursdays 11th June\, 18th June\, 25th June\, 2nd July\, 9th July\, 16th July)\nSupporting documents and handouts\nAccess to range of temples and resources\n\nPlease note\, sessions will take place in the Shipton Street Main Hall situated in the hub across the road from the main Zest Centre building. \n\n\nThis course will be free to attend for those who live and work in Sheffield.
